In the wake of Fridays' mass killing at an elementary school in Connecticut, the stupidity from gun rights advocates just keeps flowing from their ever gaping pie holes. In the most recent display of moronic ignorance a legislator from Texas has suggested that arming teachers with assault rifles would have solved the problem before it started. What a moron!
Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas is quoted as saying:
“.. I wish to God she had had an M-4 in her office, locked up so when she heard gunfire, she pulls it out and she didn’t have to lunge heroically with nothing in her hands and takes him out and takes his head off before he can kill those precious kids.”
After all, elementary school teachers are so well trained in combat situations that they should be armed in case of such incursions by lunatics. Teachers are obviously all experienced combatants and more than equipped for such situations. I really can’t believe the bullshit that these idiots are spewing forth after this horrendous event.
Let’s face it, the last thing we need are guns in schools. The last thing we should want are rifle cabinets in each classroom or even in the office,“ just in case something happens”. I don’t know about you, but arming teachers is probably the worst idea ever conceived of on the face of this earth. We all know how trying our own kids can be, can you imagine 30 kids that are not even your own? What’s to say that some teacher doesn’t crack and decide to use the state issued weapon on her classroom. What’s to stop high school kids from over powering their teachers and using a readily available weapon against them? After all, we would be putting the weapon right there for them to access.
Are we really going to entertain the idea of arming and training teachers in the classroom? I sincerely doubt that it will happen, but that’s not the scary thing. The scary thing is that lunatics out there still think that more guns, in a nation with over 300 million of them, is the solutions to the problem. If having more guns really made us safe, a nation with almost one gun per person should be the safest place in the world to live, but reality is continually proving this to be absolutely false. We are a nation that is seeing regular mass murders on a more frequent basis for the simple reason that too many guns are in too many hands. It’s the pinnacle of insanity and it’s not going to stop any time soon, unless we do something to get the guns out of the hands of people. Not just crazy people, all people. The guns used in the elementary school were legally purchased, not illegally acquired. The fact that they were available in the household in the first place is the problem and that is what we ultimately have to realize.
The last thing we have to ask is when are the crazy ideas going to stop being thrown out as feasible solutions to the problem? Last night another lunatic went into a hospital with an AK 47 and shot 3 more people before being taken out by law enforcement officers. I guess the republican from Texas will suggest next that we require doctors and nurses to carry sidearms “just in case”. After all, more guns is the only answer according to these fucking lunatics.
Enough is enough and it’s time for the stupidity to stop be throw out as an answer to the problem and real solutions start being put forth. The only reasonable and logical solution is to get rid of the guns. It has worked everywhere else in the world and will work here. Until that happens, the gun loving fuckheads just need to shut the hell up and stop making themselves look even more idiotic than they already do.
