Today’s rant has nothing to do with religion. I take that back, it does have to do with a religion of sort, the type that people replace normal religions with. This is the type that doesn't require belief in some imaginary being, but instead turns ideals or even the absurd into an almost religious zeal.
We all know that American has an unhealthy obsession with guns, but it take weeks like this to show how sick that obsession is. First we had a 22-year-old psychopath take an AR-15 into a mall, kill 2 people, seriously wound another and then kill himself. The only thing that really saved more people from getting killed was the fact that he was incompetent with the weapon. Then, we have today. I wake up to news that another psychopathic fuck took 2 guns to an elementary school and started shooting. Multiple people have been killed or injured, some o f them children. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that this is just fucking insane.
I can hear the gun advocates now – “If only someone had of been carrying a gun, the shooter would have been stopped.” That is complete and total bullshit. I have had a carry permit in the past and have carried a weapon. I do advocate gun rights, with limitations. I also know that the average asshole that does carry a weapon is no better at shooting than the goons that are running around committing these crimes. I have watched pathetic fucks taking their CHL shooting test and even under controlled conditions without the pressure of a shooter trying to kill them they had a hard time hitting the target at 3 meters. Do these deluded individuals who are carrying guns really think that their skills are magically going to flower under extreme conditions? The answer is no, they will just end up killing more kids or by-standers because they shouldn't be carrying a weapon in the first place.
Look, I don’t give a fuck about the second amendment or about America’s history with guns and our unhealthy obsession with them. What I do care about is the fact that guns are being used on a more frequent basis by insane bastards to kill innocent people in public places. What I care about is an insane gun lobby that uses these incidents to try and push their agenda of more guns in the hands of people rather than less. What pisses me off are the gung-ho fucktards who think that carrying a gun will make them a hero in these situations because “they would have stopped the shooter”. Well guess what moron, unless you have combat training and experience, are properly prepared for such situations and can actually shoot better than 90 percent of the fools that get their concealed carry license, you are going to be a danger to the people around you rather than the hero that your testosterone based obsession makes you believe yourself to be.
And for the even more retarded camp of loons who think owning handguns will stop the government from doing whatever they want if the time comes that they really want to oppress the people? You are also nothing but fucking idiots. Your little pop-guns will do nothing against tanks and trained military personnel if it comes to that. Everyone except your delusional ass realizes this simple fact. Your Glock isn't going to do shit against tanks and artillery except give a nice target for them to blow the fuck up. This is not the American colonial period where the average citizen with their rifle was a match for the British Military. These are modern times and the weapons that you can buy are no match for mechanized armor, air power, mortars, artillery and everything else the military has at its disposal. You are living a pipe dream, chuckles, if you think that you would make a difference against a military machine determined to control your nation.
My advice to the assholes who think that more guns are the answer? Grow the fuck up, push your representatives to fight for more gun restrictions, not less, and forget about the chest thumping hero delusion that you live under. Like it or not, gun control and laws that restrict gun ownership reduce gun violence to almost nothing in nations that have such laws. The rest of the world knows it, but my fellow Americans are just too fucking stupid to get it. Until we do “get it” we will continue to see this type of bullshit in the news and families will continue to grieve because your stupid ass just has to own a fucking gun. Good for you, assholes, hope you’re happy to see that your “constitutional rights” are protected and more people are dead because of it.
