Boobs – No, Guns – Yes….

American Sure Is Fucked Up!
I saw a graphic today that reminded me of the whole 2004 Super Bowl incident with Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake.  It pointed out that it only took Congress 10 days to convene a special hearing to make sure that the American public wouldn't have to suffer such breast bearing horror again in their living room.  This just made me think, “what the fuck is wrong with America?”

It’s pretty pathetic that something completely harmless, such as a bare breast on the TV can cause such a stir and panic that the congress feels the need to convene a special hearing.  The public outcry and demand to see that this never happened again was immediate.  People were screaming that their children were permanently scarred because they were exposed to Janet Jackson’s pasty clad breast for all of a second on their TV.  The outrage was, to be honest, insane.
Now we have yet another mass murder on our hands, but where is the outrage.  For a large portion of the country the first thing that came to mind was “They are going to take my guns!”  Congress has yet to say much more than “It’s too soon to be talking about this”.  People are certainly shaken over this incident, but there’s nowhere near the public outcry to take guns out of the hand of citizens, like there was to take tits off their TV.   Many are acting as though even discussing gun control is unthinkable.
Seriously people, are you so fucked up that tits on the tv must be banned but discussion of banning guns, which actually do harm people, is just off the table from the start?  Do you really think that anyone was harmed by seeing a boob?  Are you really that screwed up that you think seeing boobs getting banned from TV is more important than banning guns from our streets, homes, movie theaters and schools.  Are you really that fucking insane?
Look, I like tits.  They have never hurt me, never caused me mental distress, never caused fear that they were going to kill me and certainly don’t think they should be banned from public consumption on TV.  Let’s face it, seeing more boobs and removing their stigma would go a long way toward making this country a lot less pent up about nudity, humanity and sexuality.  Our fear of boobs is irrational.  Our idea that seeing them will harm our kids is ridiculous.  These puritanical values that make boobs scary are part of our problem as a society.  It makes us crazy and drives people to act like fucking idiots.
Guns are another story altogether.  Someone pulling them out should illicit a fear reaction because guns serve one purpose – to kill.  People can argue all they want that they are just tools and other inane nonsense, but the truth is that they are made to kill.  They are not tools.  You can’t build a house with them, drive them to work, write a paper with them, there is no secondary purpose that they can be used for.  Even target practice is nothing more than preparing to shoot a live target if it comes to that.  Even hunting rifles still only serve one purpose – to kill – even if the thing being killed is an animal rather than a human.  They are devices of death once they are in the hands of a human being.  No matter what idiotic arguments people make, be it defense, hunting or whatever we are still talking about something that serves one purpose, and that purpose is to kill another living being.
Let’s face it, if given the choice between people being able to own guns or people seeing boobs on TV, I pick seeing boobs on TV.  Hell I say show them in public.  Nobody is going to be killed if a crazy lady runs into a school and pulls out her boobs.  The kids might even get a giggle out of it.  It’s a hell of lot better than the alternative of having guns being brought into public schools by lunatics murdering children. It’s time the idiots in American realize it’s more boobs we need, not more guns.  Grow the fuck up people and stop the bullshit.
Just keep repeating after me,  “Boobs – yes, Guns – No”.  It’s a much happier, beautiful and more harmless choice.
